    JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2025 DATES [HYBRID: PART ZOOM/PART LIVE]

    Week One [Zoom]: JAN 13 at 6:30-9PM This session is on ZOOM - covers the important notes of the class, provides immediate direction, homework, wine buying, and gets the program organized for the weeks to come... covers the first class reading.  

    Week Two [Live]:  Jan 27 at 6:30-9PM Blind Tasting 101, and California vs Old World (FOUR SEASONS BEVERLY HILLS)  

    Week Three [Live]: FEB 3rd at 6:30-9PM Blind Tasting 102 and France vs Italy (FOUR SEASONS BEVERLY HILLS)  

    Week Four [Live]: Feb 10th at 6:30-9PM Blind Tasting 103 and Spain, Germany, Austria, Sparkling (FOUR SEASONS BEVERLY HILLS)  

    Week Five [Zoom]: Feb 24th at 6:30-9PM Tuesday - wines will arrive via courier or UPS, finish wine blind exam (turn in) and receive the at home "BAR Exam" - the new 2024 version. Delivery of this wine kit is additional and based on cost of delivery.... wine flights are included in the cost of the program. See the Curriculum for the wine purchase homework project.

    ZOOM SESSIONS INCLUDE WEEKLY SHIPPING OF WINES - SHIPPED MONDAY FOR TUESDAY

    Out of state samples prepped on friday and sent two day air - we are never to be held responsible when UPS fails to deliver. All zoom sessions are recorded - you can taste the wines after the session and still participate.

    Stand alone Zoom flight kits cost $40 to prepare and ship inside california - $60 for two day delivery per set.

    Class Includes

    -Hands-on tasting and instruction

    -An introduction and exploration of tasting skills as we discuss 8-12 key wines per week  

    -Each student participates in our wine purchasing project (each student buys a bottle or 2 for the program)  

    -Weekly Wine Quiz’s    

    -Varietal description project and homework projects  

    -Wine laws and history (reading and comprehension), from our foundational text book

    -Blind Wine Final/Credential Exam (The Beverage Aptitude Review) issuing J.W.E. Credential Certification awarded on successful completion

    -Successful Certification includes: Wall Certificate, J.W.E. Credentials for your resume and lifelong satisfaction of elevating your wine ability

    Textbook: Culinary Institute of America’s Exploring Wine textbook (you may purchase this from us when you enroll, or you may source your own copy of the current edition)

    NOTE:  At any time - this book could move to the 4th Edition. This 4th Edition has not yet been viewed, but the 3rd Edition will be the source of all our quizzes and the final exam for this session.  The answers in the book are the primary answer - any answers found on google or other reference will not usurp the answers found in this time tested guide.
