Time:  6:30 PM to 9:30 PM

Outline/ Dates:  (Six Sessions: 2 remote and 4 in person) 

Week One: January 26 at REMOTE - A quick one-hour group session - meeting online or on the phone.  We discuss the program and assign homework (wine buying projects). Week Two: February 2 - Tasting of New World Whites and Reds (USA, Argentina, Australia, Chile, New Zealand)
Week Three: February 9:  Tasting of France
Week Four: February 23:  Tasting of Italy
Week Five: March 2:  Tasting of Spain, Germany, Austria, Sparkling and Dessert
Week Six:  March 9 is REMOTE:  We discuss the BAR EXAM - it is difficult but very passable to those that study and follow the program.  The exam comes directly from the book and tasting sessions.  The BAR EXAM (Beverage Aptitude Review) - you will have 7 days to complete the exam, every student receives a different exam.

The 2000 square foot loft space at 530 Molino (number #214) provides an intimate and modern setting to accompany the next steps in your journey into wine. Here you will explore the nuances and bold flavors of wines from all over the world, in a relaxed and discerning environment led by Ian Blackburn. Come and explore a new experience toward gaining an unparalleled appreciation of wine.  Please note:  there are no tickets available at the door.  All tickets to the learnaboutwine.com classroom events must be purchased in advance on the website and your name must be on the guest list for admission.  Please bring your id, no one under 21 years of age is permitted in the space.

Our Policy

All tickets are non-refundable.  We can adjust your menu for dietary needs up to 72 hours prior without any additional cost.  Wines can change without notice, failure or corked wine at the dinner does not result in any type of credit or refund.  We open one bottle minimum per paying guest, and can reduce the total number of bottles being opened so that the dinner does not have to cancel should ticket sales not reach the minimum.  Fewer bottles  / larger pours - you will get the same quantity of wine and we always open the best wines for the quality of the event.  Cancellation due to illness is not allowed, you may however take food to go - or assign your seat to someone else without fee.  The perishable nature of our product requires no cancellation, no credit, no refunds for any reason.

Ian Blackburn, CSW, Event Producer
Ian discovered the wine industry while visiting the Napa Valley as a Culinary Student. Ian moved his focus to the front of the house, while working with Thomas Keller and Joachim Splichal in Los Angeles.
