Agua Viva is one of the flagship restaurants in Chef José Andrés’s collection at Conrad Los Angeles. At this chic rooftop restaurant, Chef Andrés effortlessly weaves vibrant Asian flavors with Latin American influences, all while paying homage to his home country of Spain. Agua Viva is open daily 11am to 11pm.

Located across from San Laurel on the outdoor terrace, Agua Viva features a promenade, bar area, and upper and lower dining rooms with terrace views of the mountains. The interiors pull inspiration from open-air beach clubs to provide a dreamy dining destination in the heart of Downtown LA.

Located within the stunning Frank Gehry-designed The Grand LA, Conrad Los Angeles was a natural fit for Chef Andrés, who is an avid supporter of the arts and architecture. Conrad Los Angeles is anchored in L.A.’s most exciting cultural epicenter, located directly across the street from the Gehry-designed Walt Disney Concert Hall and steps away from The Broad Museum of Contemporary Art and The Colburn School of Music. With its sweeping curves and holistic design, the entire 28-story hotel pays homage to Gehry’s statement architecture, as well as the West Coast Modernist movement.

100 S Grand Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90012

Named one of Time magazine’s “100 Most Influential People” in both 2012 and 2018, and awarded the 2015 National Humanities Medal from President Barack Obama, Chef José Andrés is an internationally recognized humanitarian, culinary innovator, educator and New York Times bestselling author.

A pioneer of Spanish tapas in the United States, he is also known for his groundbreaking avant-garde cuisine and his award-winning restaurant collective, José Andrés Group. Newly formed in 2021, José Andrés Media will produce unscripted and scripted television series, books, podcasts and digital content with a focus on food-related stories and the culture of food.

In 2010, Andrés founded World Central Kitchen, a non-profit which uses the power of food to nourish communities and strengthen economies in times of crisis and beyond. Notably, his team served four million meals to the people of Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria, and have since responded to natural disasters ranging from hurricanes, wildfires, and earthquakes, as well as humanitarian emergencies including the COVID-19 pandemic. Andrés’ work has earned awards and distinctions, including Outstanding Chef and Humanitarian of the Year by the James Beard Foundation and the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Association of Culinary Professionals. Andrés and World Central Kitchen were awarded the Princesa de Asturias Foundation’s 2021 Concordia Prize. I discovered the wine industry while working with Chef’s Thomas Keller and Joachim Splichal in the top dining rooms of Los Angeles. My passion redirected my career from restaurants/hotels to vineyards and wine-education. Now with over 25-years of experience hosting events; leading trips around the wine world; I published a wine book; produced my own wine called Beekeeper Cellars and sat for the difficult Master of Wine Exam! Today, I am considered one of the region's best wine educators and work for my 20,000 followers (follow me), visiting vineyards and wine regions and produce over 100 wine classes and events a year for my businesses and my team.
