Brunello at Valentino

Another great tasting at Valentino! The 2004 Brunellos did not disappoint. The vintage is pure, ripe, balanced, and showcases some of the most exciting wines in the marketplace today. This seems to be the right wine for the times, 95 point wines for $50 a bottle and ready to drink sales have been very strong on pre-offer efforts and the window for success may be small. I would advise my Italian friends to sell as much as possible on pre-offer and be excited to move on to the future as the wine market is going to be very difficult with a series of great vintages on the horizon. (2005-2006-2007)  I would advise wine fans to keep some room in your cellar and jump on the values that this economy creates. The world needs you to take serious positions on great wines so we can all get through this time and continue to evolve as a wine world and not slide back.2004 Brunello,  a Champion wine for difficult but important times.
